Charles Clore beach - 39th sketchcrawl

A great day to draw with the always growing group of Urban sketchers Israel ! The place offers a lot of different views : the beach of course but also the promenade with funny characters passing by or the Alma coffee shop where you can draw and have a snack. It's a long time I wanted to draw this alley of buildings, so typical to Tel Aviv.

This funny couple attracted the attention of many sketchers from the group

A church in Yafo they recently repainted, it looks right now like a wedding cake…

  1. great drawings! I was only thinking about drawing the sea side, so it's so refreshing to see documentation of the other side… I love the gentle coloring of the first one, and the bathing woman is also great, what a great model - if only she knew how many people are drawing her while she innocently bathe… hi hi.
It's funny, the thing that came to my mind when I saw the second drawing (the stairs) was lolly pop or ice cream, and then I saw your remark about the last one - the church looking like a wedding cake. painting architecture as if it's cakes and candies - maybe it's a beginning of a new art movement (:

  2. As you said, sometimes the kind of sketchbook proposes us the style for the sketch. Love these watercolor series with all the details and tender colors! And I really love very different sketches you do in your small sketchbook with thin paper - what a great collection of characters!
