Bamboo, driftwood and chopstick

I like a lot to work with ink but it's not always easy to find the right tool to express the atmospher of a scene and to feel comfortable with… I often got mad at my bamboo for dripping too fast the ink and having to dip it after each line, then I decided to test other tools, home made this time !

Parade in Jaffa

While Tel Aviv was hosting the Gay Parade, Jaffa had one of another style, performed by the biggest arab christian community of Israel which is living in Jaffa. Their were all kind of instruments and one in particular that seemed a bit strange to me in this area of the planet… the bagpipe !
Different groups with costumes and instruments are passing in front of my house every year for some occasion that I didn't understand really and I know that they train a long time before the event as I can sometimes hear them rehearseling when I have a walk in my neighborhood…

Jabaliya Beach, Jaffa

Jabaliya beach is always an amazing mix of people and when it's week end or holidays, everybody is doing barbecue on the grass, the beach is covered with smog and smell from the meat… The "balcony" above the beach is the perfect place to observe and draw comfortably, to find again this feeling of the drawing hunter that we become when we start to sketch !
