To complete my serie of Yafo, here is an ink I did using as back ground a baking paper marked with the left over of "soft ground" used for one of my etchings

Reish Galuta Street, Yafo

For the little story, I draw again from my car with my son sleeping in the back. As he fall asleep on the way back home, I stopped the car just to think where I am going to find a new place to draw... And then I saw all these wires in front of me and the mixture of different architecture, sometimes a bit destroyed, or trying to be modern... these buildings that as nothing to do with each other and started to draw that, the chaos (and the charms) of Yafo

A day in Yafo

Hi ! I am a french graphic designer who is in love with sketch books : I love to make them of course but also to see what approach other artists have for describing their environment.
Since I married an israeli, I am living between Paris and Yafo, my adopted town for these last 4 years. Today, for the meeting of Urban sketchers, it happened that I guided a part of the groupe in the Old city of Yafo. A bit funny for someone who is always considered a tourist... to guide people from Tel Aviv !

I add some sketches I did a couple of days ago, when I met some very nice young girls in the park of Yafo. Also this is Israel, a mix of culture, beliefs and religion. They were attracted when they saw me drawing, asked for a portrait and we had a nice exchange, through art.
