The head of Satan: Easter holidays in Sinai, Egypt

For the Easter holidays, we went back to Sinai with my family. We passed the border of Eilat (Israel) to reach the Egyptan side of the Red Sea, in front of Jordan. There, we found bedouin camps to host us, we choosed this time Castle beach, located in Rosh HaSatan "Satan's head", named out of the big rock that closes the bay…
A beautiful reef full of colored fishes, nice bungalows to stay in and of course, the amazing mountains of Sinaï, reflecting themselves in the sea… All what I need to spend a week to sketch and rest peacefully !

A trip to London

This summer, after the symposium of Urban sketchers in Manchester that I attended for the first time, I stayed 4 days in London. To visit museums and sketch the city was the main program of this journey!

Here is what came up in London, after 4 intensive days of workshops and being confronted to many techniques, savoir-faire and talented people…

To sketch artists working on a big surface is a real challenge because they move a lot, quickly,
and I felt that I should respect their work in my own sketch by trying to make a minimum of resemblance…

To eat cold is a part of urban sketcher's life… !!!

I went to David Hockney's exhibition in the Royal Academy of Arts:  82 portraits of people sat on a yellow chair!

I had some time to sketch before I take my Eurostar to France… The St Pancras Hotel was a good challenge

Once a week, I go to spend 40 minutes in this coffee shop located in the middle of Yefet st. in Jaffa…

It's always funny to realize that because you live in a very touristic place, your everyday walks look like a touristic tour… and your sketchbook like a guide book !

Let's visit Jaffa together…

First the port of Jaffa… I went to draw a plane that crashed 2 or 3 miles away in the sea. The 2 pilots were testing the plane, they both swam to the shore and are safe!

Then a tour on the big park of Jaffa, in front of the sea

To go back to a crowded and lively area, the old city offers nice opportunities to find a good spot to seat

When the evening comes, the market is finished, HaMalabia coffee shop installs its tables in the market

Not to late to visit a friend and draw her nice arab house…

… before going back home and have a stop to sketch Beit Ali on Yefet St.

Maybe tomorrow, I'll go on Sharey Nikanor and have a fish in Cafe 60

Tel Aviv city hall sketchcrawl

The city hall of Tel Aviv invited the group again to sketch during their art event… A good occasion to meet and sketch people while you're listen to the concert.
