פסטיבל סולם יעקב Jacob's Ladder Festival

הייתי ב"פסטיבל סולם יעקב", בחוף גינוסר. שלושה ימים של מוזיקת קאנטרי, אירי, בלוז, ועוד... אלה "החברים של חוליו" ששרו סיימון וגרפונקל וכאלה.

I was at "Jacob's Ladder Festival", in Genosar. Three days of country, Irish music, blues, and more... these are "Julio's Friends" who sang Simon & Garfunkel, and such.

 

 מיה יוהנה מנחם ושי טוכנר שרים בוב דילן וליאונרד כהן. הוא אשף גיטרה ומפוחית, והיא מזמרת בקול צלול.

Maya Yohana Menachem and Shay Tochner sing Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen. He's a guitar and harmonica expert, and she has a clear and fine voice.

בשעות הבוקר השמש עולה מהרי גולן, ועדיין לא ממלאים את הכסאות שבמים.

In the morning the sun rises in the Golan, and chairs are still empty in the lake.

מוצאת שהזמן הכי טוב לרשום הוא בישיבות מורים והשתלמויות. אני רושמת את עמיתיי באהבה, וגם את הפלפלים והמרווה מגינות בית הספר.

I find the best time to sketch is at teachers meetings and courses. I sketch my colleagues with love, and the peppers and sage from the school's gardens too.

מחכה לביתי Waiting for my daughter

My daughter planned a surprise for her friend's birthday - going to see a movie. As she's almost 13, I had to be the driver... What does one do, waiting for the girls? sits in a cafe and sketches.

ביתי תכננה הפתעה ליום הולדת של חברה - יציאה לסרט. היות והיא כמעט בת 13, אני הייתי הנהגת... מה עושה מי שמחכה לילדות? יושב בבית קפה ורושם.

הלכתי לקנות משקפיים וקבלתי כרטיס המזמין אותי לקפה חינם. מי אני שאסרב?

Three people sat far from me, looking at the menu.

לידי ישב זוג. היא משוחחת והוא נשען לאחור - שומר מרחק? ואז הוא הרים את ידו להזמין חשבון, שילמו והלכו. סוף הרישום...

Next to me sat a couple. She is talking, he is leaning backwards - being distant? Then he rased his hand to ask for the bill, they payed and went. End of sketch...

Hi, I'm Yaeli. Until recently I was a painter-illustraitor-graphic designer, and now I'm a full-time class teacher. I sketch mainly in my diary, so I know my paper is always with me, and dosen't get lost. I find it difficult to spread out over to many things in my bag. Water colours are my favorites for their transparancy, flow, and lightness...

שבת אחה"צ עם משפחתי המורחבת בחוף שדות ים, השמש עדיין גבוהה וזוהרת, תכף תאדים ותשקע. זהו בני הצועד לצד השובל הזוהר על המים.

Saturday afternoon with my family at the baech, the sun is still high and bright, soon it will go red and sink. This is my son walking into the sea along the shining path on the water.

זוהי ענבל "באלי", בת אחי, מציירת על החול ואוספת צדפים.

This is Inbal "Bali", my niece drawing on the sand and collecting seashells.

וזוהי אחותה הקטנה עדי "דידי" בונה ארמון.

And this is her younger sister Adi "Didi" making a castle.

בת אחותי אוֹרי היא ילדה מאוד מיוחדת, אוהבת את הים, וכאן גם להתחבק עם אבא שלה.

My niece Ori is a very special child, she loves the sea, and here - hugging her dad, too.
